There are only three types of professions worth pursuing: Those that alleviate suffering, those that look to the future, and those that protect the first two.

About Me
Greetings and salutations. I am Jonathan McGee, Electrical Engineer, and webmaster around these parts. I’m still working on conning a Ph.D. out of the University of Maryland (since 2004) and hopefully I will finish that up within the year.
When I'm not building baby hospitals, curing cancer, or developing the warp drive (standard things engineers lie about to attract women), my interests lie in photography; technology; wooing cute, nerdy ladies; and, of course, video games.

About Ethereal Wake
Ethereal Wake is my personal website, where I ramble incoherently about whatever I find interesting at the moment. The domain, Ethereal Wake, is a joking reference to the Luminiferous aether, the fluid through which 19th century physistics postuled light must travel. Of course, it was later discovered to be an unnecessary fabrication.
I've been operating Ethereal Wake off and on since roughly June 2002. It generally lies fallow, serving as a Subversion repository, until I get some grand idea and revive it for a timespan generally measured in weeks. For now, I’m reviving it in a limited capacity for blogging.
